Kid cooks: Hillside students share their favorite Thanksgiving recipes

What’s on your Thanksgiving table?

For second-graders in Ali Beierman’s Hillside Elementary School class, it’s everything from turkey to deviled eggs, pumpkin bread to apple crisp, and maybe even some chocolate ice cream.

The Bulletin asked Beierman’s class to write down their favorite Thanksgiving recipes. They appear here, with spelling corrected for clarity:

Deviled eggs by Dylon Koutz — First you get an egg. Next you cut up the egg. Take the yolk out and then you mash the yolk. Then you bash it for two minutes. When it is done, you put the yolk back in the egg. Then it is done.

Chocolate pie by Brandon Hanson — One crust. Two buckets of whip cream. Ten chocolate swirls. You take one pie pan, then put the crust in. Then put the whip cream on and bake it. Then put the chocolate swirls in. Then eat it.

Apple pie by Brooke Severson — You need four apples and cinnamon and vanilla, and then put flour in it. Directions: You put it in the stove for two minutes and then it is going to book. And then you let it cool down and then when it’s done you can eat it.

Pumpkin pie by Daniel Koehler — One pumpkin. One cup of salt. One spoon of powder. Cook it. Couple gallons of water. Whip cream. Eat it. Cook it for 20 minutes.

Apple pie by Skyllar Ventrone — You slice the apples in half and you need to cook it for 10 minutes or so. You need salt and pepper.

Turkey by Ava Radel — Go to the store and buy a turkey. Put it in the oven. Turn it on. Leave it in the oven for 30 minutes and take it out and put on salt.

Pumpkin bread by Quinn Leithead — Get bread. Get one pumpkin. Get a pan to put it on. Directions: Cook it for five minutes. Get a cooking glove. Take it out. Let it dry. And set it at 25 degrees.

Chocolate ice cream by Roaen Hase — Chocolate syrup, milk, baking salt, vanilla, two teaspoons of sugar. Put it in a jar. Put the cap on tight. Put the jar in a bigger jar. Put the cap on tight. Roll it around for a long time.

Pumpkin pie by Kelsey Merrill — You need to have five pumpkins. You need to have a full spoon of cinnamon. You need to cook it for two hours. You need to have flour. You need to have vinegar. Make it.

Apple pie by Emma Janke — Nine apples, four spoonfuls of cinnamon, two cups of water, three cups of sugar, two cups of flour, one gallon of jelly, whip cream. Put it all in a pan. Cook it in the oven for 20 minutes. Then put a cherry on top.

Chocolate cookies by Nolan Simpson — Eleven cups of sugar, 50 chocolate chips, 10 cups of salt, 150 white chocolate chips, 100 sprinkles, two cups of cinnamon, one cup of powder. Put it on a bake pan. Put it in the oven for 10 minutes.

Pumpkin pie by Sienna Friel — One pumpkin, 2/3 cup of cinnamon, one cup of whip cream, chocolate icing, one cherry, ice cream on the side, an oven. Put the goop and seeds in a bowl and put 2/3 cup of cinnamon. Then mix it up. When you are done mixing, put it in a cooking pan. Put it in the oven for 10 minutes.

Rhubarb pie by Shannon Beard — Two eggs, two cups of sugar, two eggs, four rhubarb. And then you put it in the oven for 30 minutes. Then you take out the pie and that is how you make rhubarb pie.

Apple pie by Kylee Nutzman — Three apples, one gallon of jelly, a lot of crust, two gallons of cinnamon, five squirts of cream, one cherry. Cook for five hours in the oven. The oven has to be 100 percent hot. Then take it out. Put it in the fridge.

Turkey by Xavier Mitchell — Find a turkey. Heat the turkey. Salt.

Apple crisp by Hailey Wilkoske — Eight apples, three cups of sugar. Put in the stove. Put it in the oven for one hour.

Blueberry pie by Alex Carpenter — Five blueberries, four spoonfuls of cinnamon, five cookies. Put it all in a pan. Bake for 20 minutes. Take it out of the pan and put a cherry on top.

Pumpkin pie by Cooper Williams — Pumpkin, frosting, cherries, and top it off with some cinnamon. Dump chocolate on the top.

Pumpkin pie by Natalie Tait — One pumpkin, three cups of sugar, one cup of salt, three cups of water, wash pumpkin. Put it in a bowl. Put three cups of sugar in the bowl. Put one cup of water in the bowl. Put one cup of salt in the bowl.
