School board gets grad requirement update

The District 833 School Board received an update on graduation requirements at last week's workshop meeting.

All eighth-grade students in middle schools are taking Algebra I this year, according to Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Assessment Rick Spicuzza. They must complete Algebra II in high school in order to receive a diploma.

Students in the Class of 2015 and beyond must also have three science credits including biology. The other two credits can come from chemistry and/or physics, he said.
