Cottage Grove police reports: Thefts; mailbox tampering
In the 7100 block of Hidden Valley Trail, an unknown person entered a vehicle in the driveway and stole a cordless drill, change and a garage door opener Feb. 15. Using the door opener, the person went into the garage and took a spare set of keys for another vehicle that was in the garage. Loss: $175.
A 29-year-old Cottage Grove man was cited for theft after stealing $104 of gas from BP, 8490 East Point Douglas Road, across three days. On Feb. 10, 12 and 14 he drove off without paying for the gas.
A 35-year-old Cottage Grove woman and a 33-year-old Cottage Grove man were cited for theft and disorderly conduct after the refused to pay for a cab that dropped them off in the 8800 block of Indian Boulevard Feb. 17.
A 14-year-old Newport male and a 15-year-old Newport male were charged Feb. 20 for thefts that took place Feb. 8. The two males took video games from Target, 8655 East Point Douglas Road, and were in possession of tools that can deactivate the electronic security system.
A Cottage Grove man had $500 stolen from him Feb. 20 when he went to the 7700 block of Hemingway to purchase rims and tires from someone using the letgo app. The man received one tire and rim, and paid the person. He said he was going back inside to bring out the rest of the tires and rims, and did not return.
A 17-year-old male was cited Feb. 16 for being at Park High School, 8040 80th St., after he has previously been trespassed from the campus.
Tampering with mailboxes
At least five mailboxes on Meadow Grass Lane were damaged Feb. 20. The mailboxes were possibly hit by a vehicle.
