Newport police reports for Aug. 8
Recently reported criminal activity:
Corey E. Sampson, 27, of Newport, was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault and possession of drug paraphernalia following a July 16 domestic incident at a home in the 1500 block of 11th Avenue. Sampson allegedly was involved in a fight with his girlfriend, according to the police report.
A Newport man reported July 26 that someone stole $700 from a plastic bag inside one of his boots in his home in the 1600 block of Fourth Avenue.
New French Bakery, 2233 Maxwell Ave., reported July 2 that a forklift charger valued at $750 was stolen by a former employee. The case is under investigation.
A Newport man reported July 7 that fishing equipment was stolen from a Second Avenue home. The case was under investigation.
SuperAmerica, 1624 Hastings Ave., reported a $42 gas drive-off July 15.
A St. Paul man reported July 25 that a utility trailer, riding lawn mower and trimmer ($8,450 total) were stolen from the 200 block of 21st Street between July 20-23.
