Cottage Grove residents encouraged to register Night to Unite parties

With just a few weeks left to plan your annual Night to Unite neighborhood event, the Cottage Grove Police Department wants to help. Each year, the police department supports and encourages residents to register their party in exchange for free Night to Unite party balloons and supplies and other exciting opportunities.

Residents who register their parties might get visits from the city officials, police officers and K-9 Blitz, firefighters, Scruff McGruff, the Strawberry Fest Ambassadors and more.

Registered parties can also participate in a number of donation campaigns or sign up for a 10- to 15-minute fire prevention class hosted by the Cottage Grove Fire Department.

There are drawings for those who register their Night to Unite parties, and 16 lucky winners will receive 40 hot dogs, courtesy of Bonngard’s. Another seven will play host to a water balloon contest put on by the Cottage Grove Crime Prevention Board.

The registration deadline is July 31.

Night to Unite is an annual get-together that occurs in neighborhoods across the country and promotes community awareness, strengthens neighbor connections and supports a crime-free environment.
