Cottage Grove police reports for July 1

Recent criminal activity reported in Cottage Grove: 


A 51-year-old Cottage Grove man was arrested June 20 on suspicion of obstructing the legal process and misdemeanor domestic assault after he allegedly threw a water bottle at his wife and then hit her in the face during an altercation at their home in the 8600 block of Green Avenue. He was booked into the Washington County jail on suspicion of domestic assault.

Property damage

A Cottage Grove man reported June 20 that a vehicle was keyed while parked in the 9100 block of 92nd Street.

Underage drinking

A 20-year-old Duluth woman was cited for minor consumption after police were called to Woodridge Park at 2:30 a.m. June 21 on a report of people in the park after hours.


A Cottage Grove man reported June 23 that an iPod, iPod Touch and GPS device were stolen from his unlocked vehicle in the 9600 block of 72nd Street.

A 20-year-old Cannon Falls man was cited for theft June 23 at Kohl’s, 7990 Hardwood Ave.

A Cottage Grove woman told police June 25 that someone stole $580 cash from her unlocked vehicle parked outside the Dollar Store, 8711 East Point Douglas Road.

Police are investigating a June 25 report of missing narcotics from White Pine Senior Living, 6900 East Point Douglas Road. There was a possible suspect.

Two people were cited following a theft June 25 at Walmart, 9300 East Point Douglas Road. A 35-year-old St. Paul man was ticketed for shoplifting and trespassing after he picked up receipts outside the store, went inside and found merchandise on the receipts and then attempted to return the items for a cash refund, according to the police report. A 42-year-old St. Paul woman was ticketed for trespassing.

A 24-year-old Arden Hills woman was arrested on suspicion of multiple charges following a reported theft June 25 at Walmart. She tried to return stolen merchandise. She was booked into the Washington County jail on suspicion of theft, giving a false name to police, possession of shoplifting gear and a traffic violation. She also had an outstanding warrant on a drug charge.


A Cottage Grove woman reported June 24 that obscenities were written on the windows of two vehicles parked in the 9600 block of Hames Avenue.


Park High School, 8040 80th St., reported June 24 that an outdoor baseball shed was broken into but nothing was stolen.


Firefighters extinguished a small dryer fire shortly before 2 p.m. June 25 at 7597 Lamar Ave. People were in the home but got out safely.
