Cottage Grove police reports for Feb. 13: Theft, domestic, assault

Recent criminal activity reported in Cottage Grove: 


A male Park High School student reported that an iPod was taken from the school on Jan. 31. No value was listed.

A 12-year-old Cottage Grove male was referred to the Youth Service Bureau for theft after police say he took a video game system valued at $255 from a home in the 7600 block of Hinton Avenue.

G-Will Liquors, 6990 80th St., reported a possible theft of alcohol on Jan. 31. Police were waiting to review surveillance video.

A Hastings woman was mailed a citation for theft after she and three other people left the Ho King restaurant, 8711 East Point Douglas Road, on Feb. 3 without paying their $38 bill.

Holiday gas station, 8101 Hadley Ave., reported a $40 gas drive-off on Feb. 5.


A 26-year-old Cottage Grove man was arrested for violating a domestic no-contact order on Jan. 31. Police were conducting a walk-through at the Wakota Inn, 7125 80th St., when they heard a loud noise from a room. They identified the people in the room — the man and a 24-year-old Cottage Grove woman who had obtained the no-contact order. He was booked into the Washington County jail.


A 15-year-old Cottage Grove boy was given a juvenile citation for fifth-degree assault after he punched a 14-year-old Cottage Grove boy three times in the face during a Jan. 31 altercation in the 8300 block of 79th Street. There was a second suspect but he was not cited.

A 14-year-old Cottage Grove boy was issued a juvenile citation for fifth-degree assault after he hit a 13-year-old Cottage Grove boy during a Feb. 3 altercation at Cottage Grove Middle School, 9775 Indian Blvd.


A 17-year-old Cottage Grove boy was issued a citation for trespassing Feb. 3 at Park High School.


A 19-year-old Cottage Grove woman was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after police were called Feb. 3 to a home in the 8100 block of East Point Douglas Road on a report that someone was smoking marijuana.

A police officer on patrol about 1:40 a.m. Feb. 5 found a suspicious vehicle parked at Zion Lutheran Church, 8500 Hillside Trail. There were two people inside. The driver was smoking marijuana, according to the report. No citations were issued pending further investigation.

A 20-year-old Topeka, Kan., man was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana Feb. 5 in a room at the Wakota Inn, 7125 80th St. Police were at the hotel to conduct a walk-through when they smelled a strong odor of burning marijuana from a room, according to the report.


A Cottage Grove woman reported Feb. 4 that someone deflated her vehicle tires in the 8900 block of 92nd Street. There was no damage to the tires.
