Cottage Grove police reports for Sept. 11: Drugs, theft

Recent criminal activity reported in Cottage Grove:


Three men were arrested on various charges after Cottage Grove police pulled over a vehicle shortly before 4 a.m. Aug. 31 after watching the vehicle swerve near 80th Street and Highway 61. The driver, Kevin Clark, 29, of Minneapolis, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree drunken driving and driving after revocation. A passenger, Rickey L. Hughes, 30, of St. Cloud, was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant and was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and giving false information to police. Marquis J. Holloway, 26, of Minneapolis, was arrested on an outstanding warrant and was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and for providing a false name to police.

Evan S. Thomsen, 26, no permanent address, was arrested Sept. 4 at Hadley Avenue and 85th Street for an outstanding warrant for scavenging. While searching him during the arrest, police allegedly found methamphetamine in Thomsen’s pocket. He was booked into the Washington County jail on suspicion of fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Applebee’s restaurant, 8380 East Point Douglas Road, reported Sept. 4 that it found a baggie under a bar stool and believed it contained drugs. The substance tested positive for marijuana.


G-Will Liquors, 6990 80th St., reported a theft Aug. 28. The suspect took a bottle of vodka valued at $17. No arrest.

A juvenile female reported Aug. 28 that her cellphone was stolen by boys in the 7700 block of Hinton Avenue. The caller said her friends forced her to report the theft and she didn’t want to press charges if the suspects were found.

A company maintaining a home in the 8400 block of Henna Avenue reported Aug. 29 that the house’s central air conditioning unit was removed from the cement pad outside. No suspects and no value listed.

A Cottage Grove resident reported Aug. 29 that a bike was stolen from an attached garage in the 6900 block of Homestead Avenue. The overhead garage door was left open. Loss: $645.
