St. Paul Park police reports for Aug. 9: Fire, assault, property damage

Recent criminal activity reported in St. Paul Park:


Firefighters were called to East Side Auto, 805 Main St., at 5:30 p.m. July 4 on a report of two vehicles on fire. One vehicle fire appeared to start from an electrical or battery issue and spread to the second vehicle. Both were extinguished.


A South St. Paul woman reported July 17 that her brother assaulted her at his home in the 900 block of Main Street. Police planned to arrest the man on suspicion of fifth-degree domestic assault.

A Cottage Grove man reported July 19 that a St. Paul Park man assaulted him, stole the battery from his truck, tampered with a boat and possibly broke windows at Hidden Harbor, 388 Ninth Ave. The man did not want to press charges.

Property damage

A St. Paul Park man reported July 19 that the rear window of a vehicle was damaged while parked in the 900 block of Main Street.

A Hastings man reported July 20 that his vehicle was damaged while parked behind the American Legion, 328 Broadway Ave.
