Cottage Grove police reports: Drug citations, shoplifting and suspicious activity


A 44-year-old St. Paul Park man was injured when he lost control of his motorcycle while driving at 2:20 p.m. Oct. 7 at 103rd Street and Grey Cloud Island Trail. The motorcycle slid on its side. The man was transported to Regions Hospital to be treated for injuries.

A 38-year-old Oakdale man was cited for inattentive driving after police say he caused a three-vehicle crash around 1:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at the intersection of 70th Street and Goodview Avenue. A 55-year-old man and a 49-year-old female, both of Cottage Grove, who were riding in another vehicle involved in the crash suffered minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Suicidal male

Police transported an adult male to Regions Hospital after responding to a reported emotional disturbance Oct. 7 in the 6700 block of Pine Crest Trail.


A 24-year-old St. Paul Park man was cited for shoplifting Oct. 7 at Kohls, 7990 Hardwood Ave.

Suspicious activity

Spirit Halloween, 7240 East Point Douglas Road, reported Oct. 7 that a window was damaged at the business. No damage estimate was listed.

A woman living in the 6800 block of 99th Street reported two unusual finds outside her home recently. She called police Oct. 9 after finding a pair of men's underwear on her front step. Then she called police on Oct. 11 after she found a pair of men's underwear in her mailbox. There were no suspects.


A man was asked to leave Country Inn & Suites and told not to return to the hotel after staff found him showering in the pool area around 5 p.m. Oct. 8. The man was not a guest at the hotel.

Drug citations

A 22-year-old Newport woman and a 24-year-old Cottage Grove man were cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after police found them in a vehicle parked in the lot at Hamlet Park, 8885 Hamlet Ave., shortly after 8 a.m. Oct. 9.
