Armed robbery reported at Hastings hotel

Two armed men robbed the night clerk at the AmericInn hotel in Hastings early Thursday morning. The robbery took place at about 1:30 a.m. Both men had guns.

"They did get an undisclosed amount of money," Hastings Police Chief Paul Schnell said. "They then taped the night clerk, with Duct tape, to a chair. She was ultimately able to escape after they left."

Investigators have been working to identify the suspects.

"There could be as many as four suspects involved in the entire incident, but we don't know that for certain," Schnell said.

There may be surveillance video of the robbery.

The AmericInn is located at 2400 Vermillion St.
