CG girl who ran from home admits she was with convicted sex offender
A Cottage Grove teenager who had been missing since July 2 before she turned herself in to Las Vegas police last weekend admitted to Cottage Grove police she was with a convicted sex offender who is wanted by police.
Angela M. Tschida, 14, turned herself in last Friday to a security guard at a Las Vegas bus station, authorities said. After Cottage Grove police arranged for her flight back to Minnesota, the middle school student told police she had accompanied Alexius J. McMullin, 36, out of the state, said Cottage Grove police detective Tom Ueland.
McMullin is wanted by authorities in Washington and Hennepin Counties.
Police are not releasing further information because of an ongoing investigation of McMullin, who could also face federal charges, Ueland said Thursday.
