Business is brewing at G-Will Liquors.

The Cottage Grove liquor store last week celebrated its new space at 6990 80th St.

The move across the street from the old store at 80th Street Crossing has generated customer interest, store manager Nicole Gora said. Sales have been steady but more people are ducking in to check out the new location and its selection of beer, wine and spirits.

The store has added about 100 new items, based on current drinking trends. There is a broader selection of bourbons and whiskeys, along with more hard ciders.

The store also added more craft beer offerings for its make-your-own-six-pack feature.

“We worked really hard on the sales plan and what we wanted to bring in,” Gora said.

City leaders and the Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce last week held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the new location.

“We’re so happy that they could continue to invest in Cottage Grove,” council member Dave Thiede said.

G-Will has been in Cottage Grove 17 years.

The store is expected to anchor a new small retail center called Norris Marketplace at 80th Street and Hadley Avenue.

G-Will employs 12 people; most are part-time workers. Staffing did not change with the move, Gora said.

G-Will Liquors, 6999 80th St., is open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information, call 651-459-5888.
