St. Paul Park commission has two candidates for one spot

The St. Paul Park Planning Commission has one empty chair and two eager candidates vying for it.

At its April 10 meeting, the commission interviewed candidate Jason Barnett, a St. Paul Park resident and architecture student at the University of Minnesota.

Barnett told the commission that he was a little younger than other members, but that was good because it's important to think about the future.

"St. Paul Park is changing, but there is still a certain hometown feel that we want to retain," Barnett said.

Candidate Shelley Landgraf, who also attended the meeting, said she deals with zoning at work. She also writes policies and pulls together teams who write policies.

Candidates for Planning Commission must attend three regular meetings before they are considered for membership. Landgraf completed her three meetings on April 10. Barnett has two more meetings to attend.

No decision was made at the April 10 meeting.
