Cottage Grove police reports for July 6
Mississippi Dunes Golf Links, 10351 Grey Cloud Trail, reported June 12 that a golf ball dispenser was damaged and at least $300 was stolen.
SuperAmerica, 7033 Jorgensen Lane, reported a $25 gas drive-off on June 15.
A 41-year-old Hastings man was cited for shoplifting June 16 at Walmart, 9300 East Point Douglas Road.
A 25-year-old Cottage Grove man was cited for shoplifting June 21 at G-Will Liquors, 6999 80th St.
Police received a report June 26 that $200 worth of bathroom, kitchen and roof vents were stolen from a trailer at a Hearthstone Avenue construction site.
A Blaine man reported June 28 that his Honda Civic was stolen from the parking lot of the District Service Center, 7362 East Point Douglas Road.
Tina Lin Gilbertson, 49, of St. Paul, was arrested June 24 on suspicion of shoplifting and property damage following a reported theft at Wal-Mart, 9300 East Point Douglas Road.
A Cottage Grove resident reported June 23 that someone broke into a home in the 6600 block of 85th Street. Two rear windows were broken to gain entry. Nothing was reported stolen.
A Cottage Grove woman called police June 24 to report that she returned home in the 9700 block of Hames Court and found a door open. A dog that had been outside was inside. Police determined someone entered the home through a sliding glass door. Two TVs, a stereo and cash were reported stolen. Loss: $3,310.
Hunter Alexander Holtan, 19, of Cottage Grove was arrested June 25 on suspicion of fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance. Police had been called to Holiday gas station, 8101 Hadley Ave., on a report of possible drug activity. Holtan allegedly was in possession of oxycodone without a prescription, according to the report.
Jordan Steven Yaritz, 24, of Cottage Grove, was arrested June 25 on suspicion of domestic assault-strangulation, gross-misdemeanor interfering with an emergency call and domestic assault. Yaritz allegedly pushed a 25-year-old Cottage Grove woman and took a phone from her as she tried to call 911, according to police. Yaritz was booked at the Washington County jail.
Belaynesh Zewdie, 39, of Cottage Grove, was arrested June 28 on suspicion of fifth-degree domestic assault for allegedly hitting her husband while the two were in a vehicle near Jensen and Jergen avenues. Zewdie was booked at the Washington County jail.
Four youths were referred to the Youth Service Bureau following a fight June 27 in the 7400 block of 96th Street. They include an 11-year-old Woodbury boy, and a 9-year-old boy, 11-year-old boy and 11-year-old girl, all from Cottage Grove.
Police received a report shortly before 9 a.m. June 28 that a juvenile male had run through the neighborhood nude in the 9600 block of 85th Street. Police did not see the incident, but talked with the juvenile afterward. There were no citations.
