The lanes at Park Grove Bowl in St. Paul Park were splashed with fluorescent yellow Saturday as dozens of area bowlers played a game of 10-pin as part of the sixth-annual Stone Soup Soup-er Bowl fundraiser.

Majel Carroll, event organizer and director of the board that oversees Stone Soup Thrift Shop, said despite lower attendance numbers, the event was a success.

“The food was good, people were happy, everyone got prizes,” she said. “The third session was the busiest and of the 24 lanes, at least 20 of them were occupied.”

Several events were taking place around south Washington County on Saturday, a factor Carroll said could have contributed to the lower numbers. However, the fundraiser collected just over $31,000 for the St. Paul Park thrift shop.
