Passenger airplane lands safely in Lake Elmo field
A small passenger airplane was forced to land in a Lake Elmo field shortly after 10:30 this morning, north of I-94 and east of County Road 13, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
No one was hurt and the airplane was not seriously damaged.
The Cessna 210-series craft carried three people who were flying from Holman Field in St. Paul to Waukegan Regional Airport in Waukegan, Ill. to transfer a medical patient, said Sgt. Andrew Ellickson of the sheriff's department.
Sheriff's office dispatchers received an emergency call from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport at 10:40 a.m., saying an airplane had made an emergency landing immediately south of 371 Julep Ave. N.
Law enforcement from Oakdale and Woodbury Police departments assisted the occupants.
The Federal Aviation Administration was to inspect the craft and to investigate the incident
