Pine Hill out one day early for construction

Pine Hill Elementary School students will end the school year on Wednesday, June 4, one day earlier than the other 13 District 833 elementary schools, so teachers can remove all items from their classrooms ahead of construction.

Bids for the construction of a new heating and cooling system at the school were approved by the school board Feb. 28.

The bid for $3.7 million is $250,000 more than budgeted because of increases in the cost of labor and copper, according to John Doth, district facilities director.
