Raiders avenge SEC loss

One sought revenge. The other is the Metro Area's No. 1 team.

Both beat Park High School's girls hockey team last week.

Cretin-Derham Hall avenged a Suburban East Conference loss it suffered to the 'Pack Dec. 2, earning a 4-1 win last Tuesday while undefeated Eden Prairie (19-0-0) remained flawless after beating Park 3-1.

Cretin-Derham Hall (14-6-1, 8-3-1 SEC) the SEC's third-place team, held Park (3-17-1, 2-9-0 SEC) to one goal, which was scored by Kirsten Tate off a Jamie Brooks assist in the second period. Cretin outshot Park 40-12, though Park keeper Janelle O'Neil made 36 saves in the league contest and followed with 20 more against Eden Prairie to push her season total to 190 -- the league's ninth highest.

Park co-leading scorer Tate (tied with Jac Daggit with seven season goals) snapped the only shot for the Wolfpack in the first period, and Eden Prairie goalie Kristen Elliot stopped the remaining nine attempts the Wolfpack made against the Lake League leader.

The Wolfpack will be back on the road this week, traveling to Roseville (14-4-3, 9-0-3 SEC) tomorrow and to Forest Lake (14-5-2, 9-4-2 SEC) Saturday.
