Board puts off decision on new high school's location

School District 833 officials did not choose a site for a third high school at its Thursday night meeting as expected.

A decision was postponed until Thursday, Nov. 16, because of a concern about the 120-acre site in the southeast corner of Dale Road and County Road 19 in Woodbury, just north of the border with Cottage Grove, one of the two sites being considered.

The delay is due to concerns about possible soil contamination from a nearby former 3M-dump site that has been under Minnesota Pollution Control Agency remediation since the late 1960s.

The other site under consideration is 80 acres at Bailey Road and Pioneer Drive.
