New faces will be in place when school starts this fall

School District 833 students will be seeing some new faces this fall with the hiring of new principals and others changing schools.

Aaron Harper is taking the reins as the new principal of Oltman Junior High School.

Harper was an assistant principal at Bloomington Kennedy High School for the past four years. He also served as administrative assistant, working with ninth-graders, and was a science teacher. He was also a teacher in the Moundsview district teaching advanced placement biology, physical science and genetics classes.

Harper replaces John Holm, who retired.

Julie Nielsen was recently named principal of Middleton Elementary School, returning to the district after being a principal in Northfield for four years. Nielson previously served as a physical education specialist and was an assistant principal at Middleton.

Dave Bunn's position as interim assistant Park High assistant principal was recently made permanent. He is also working on a doctorate degree.

Robin Francis is the new principal at Hillside Elementary School, replacing Karin Lopez, who is the new principal of Liberty Ridge Elementary School.

Francis served as assistant principal at Middleton Elementary School and assisted at Liberty Ridge. She also worked in St. Paul schools.

Erin Metoxin, special services supervisor, was named interim Director of Special Services. Metoxin has 12 years experience, having worked in North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale and Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan districts.

As a result of Rick Houston's retirement from Cottage Grove Elementary School, Carl Aegler is the new principal, moving from Pine Hill Elementary School.

Terry Lizakowski is moving from Liberty Ridge Elementary School to be principal at Pine Hill Elementary School.
