With the ongoing economic troubles hitting families across Washington County and Minnesota, the Minnesota Home Ownership Center and Washington County Housing and Redevelopment Authority are joining to offer a telephone seminar on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
In an economy full of mostly doom and gloom, Cottage Grove can look at a slim ray of hope: The city this year has already surpassed 2007’s record-low number of new housing starts, proof of at least a faint pulse in the city’s housing market.
Rosemount will receive expert help in creating a full range of housing choices in the city through a program sponsored by the Urban Land Institute Minnesota and the Regional Council of Mayors.
“One meal, one hour, one afternoon of mudding — it took all of us to build these houses,” said the Rev. John Snider of St. Stephens Lutheran Church Saturday morning, as he gave the opening invocation at Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity’s official dedication of attached homes at 902 and 904 Hastings Avenue.
