Jim Wrisky, age 64, of Newport, died Thursday afternoon, March 21, surrounded by his family.
James Paul Wrisky was born April 21, 1948, in St. Paul, Minn., the son of Paul and Marcella (Kustrich) Wrisky. He was raised in North St. Paul and graduated from high school in 1966. On June 8, 1974, he was united in marriage with Cheryl Oehrlein in North St. Paul. Jim served in the U.S. Army.
He was devoted to his family and loved going camping at Big Sandy Lake. Jim was a woodworker and owned and operated Jim's Woodworking. He enjoyed bonfires, his station wagons, and his dogs Bandit and CoCo.
Jim is the beloved husband of Cheri; loving father of Steve (Anna), Crystal (Dave) Eichman; grandpa of Caitlin, Vincent James; son of Paul; brother of Diane, Bev Curtis, Tom (Donna), Jerry (Gayle), Linda (Bob) Radcliff; brother-in-law of Frank Domarus; son-in-law of Alice Oehrlein; and is also survived by godchildren; nieces; nephews; and special friends the Sherer family.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Marcella; siblings Joan Domarus, Mike; father-in-law Emil Oehrlein.
Visitation was 3-5 p.m., with memorial service at 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, at Newport United Methodist Church, 1596 11th Ave., Newport.
