Monte White, age 61, of Cottage Grove, died peacefully at home with his family around him after a courageous battle with lung cancer caused by Agent Orange.

Monte White, age 61, of Cottage Grove, died peacefully at home with his family around him after a courageous battle with lung cancer caused by Agent Orange.

Beloved husband of Jana for 33 years; loving father of Matthew (Andrea). Survived by mother Ardis Speckel; sisters Nita Davis, Karen (Harry) Marsh, Althea (Al) Heim; brothers Paul (Pam), Barry; special cousin Susan Hammock; many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and Jana's family.

Preceded in death by father Herbert.

He served his country during a difficult time in Vietnam. He was known as the "Photo Guy" at Walgreens in Cottage Grove. He wanted to be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, and brother.

Visitation 4-8 p.m. Monday at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Ave., St. Paul Park, and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at church. Funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at All Saints Lutheran Church, 8100 Belden Blvd., Cottage Grove. Interment Cottage Grove Cemetery. Memorials to CaringBridge or Woodwinds Cancer Care.

You are all in my prayers!!! I'm so sorry, Monty was a "GREAT" man! We worked together for 7+ yrs. at Walgreens. Alot of customers would comment on how good Monte was in the photo department, he was well liked! We had many conversations...... He loved his family so much, that was evident! I know he will be very missed!!! He is at peace now.... He will always be with you...... Lean on GOD & the Angels, they will help...........
