Matthew was born on June 25, 1990, in Powell, Wyo.
Matthew was loved very much and is survived by his father, Douglas Amos; brother, William Amos; mother, Shelly Amos; stepmother, Kathryn Amos; grandfather Bill Eaton; step-grandparents, Joseph and Shirley Trost; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends from around the United States and Canada.
Preceded in death by his grandparents Georgette and Harold Amos of Moscow, Idaho; grandmother Sandi Eaton of Powell, Wyo.; and his beloved cats Ludwig and Luigi.
Matthew grew up in Moscow, Idaho, and moved to Minnesota with his father and brother at age 10. He grew up to be an avid sports fan and followed the teams from Seattle even after moving to Minnesota. As a senior in high school, he decided to try out for the football team and played through the pain of an entire season of defense for Park High School in Cottage Grove. Once enrolled at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls, he switched to lacrosse, playing goalie and later midi, including a game at the Xcel Stadium.
A memorial gathering will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St., Cottage Grove, MN 55016, 651-459-2483, with a sharing time to be included.
Memorials preferred instead of flowers for the family to defer costs.

Doug, we are so, so sorry about Matthew. We continue to pray no one else will have to know this pain!! l I wish we were closer so we could give you a hug, but know you are in out hearts. We will pray for all of you. I remember when you stopped by after Brad was killed. I thought it was such a kind jester. But you were always a kind person. We in Powell have heavy hearts for you!
