Robert 'Bob' Erickson, 84

Robert "Bob" E. Erickson, age 84, of Cottage Grove, Minn., died Friday, April 6, at Loving Care Cottage in Cottage Grove.

Robert "Bob" E. Erickson, age 84, of Cottage Grove, Minn., died Friday, April 6, at Loving Care Cottage in Cottage Grove.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 920 Holley Ave., St. Paul Park. A visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Ave., St. Paul Park, and also 1 hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery with military honors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Stephen; and a brother, Jim.

He will be missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Jo Anne; children Jo Anne (Brian Stewart) Lorenz, Robert Jr., Theresa (Jerry) Tweet, Mike (Denise), Patty (Jeff Wiles) Erickson; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.

He was born on Dec. 7, 1929, in Amery, Wis., to Richard and Mary (Remior) Erickson. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy. Bob was a longtime employee at the Koch Refinery and a member of United Steel Workers Local 662. Bob was a lifelong learner who was constantly active and always curious. He valued his family and friends above all else.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to family choice.
