Gerald Swenson, 71

Gerald "Jerry" Swenson, age 71, died Feb. 16. Called back to God peacefully surrounded by loving family.

Jerry had a loving heart, an immense sense of humor, and loved his family with all his heart.

Preceded in death by his parents, Walfred and Myrtle; great-grandson, Deaken Scot Wright.

Survived by loving wife of 51 years, Gloria; his four children, Kimberly (John) Wright, Timothy, Daniel (Lori), and Krista (Rory) LaBelle; his four grandchildren, Leiann Wright, Jeffrey (Ashley) Wright, Luke, and Cody Swenson; sister, Marcelline Luhrs; many nieces and nephews.

Jerry was born on Feb. 23, 1940, in St. Paul. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1962 and worked in real estate for 27 years. After retirement, he enjoyed a life of traveling, golfing, reading, family, and friends. The world will not be the same without him.

Funeral service 12 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 7000 Hinton Ave. S., Cottage Grove. Visitation 2 hours prior to the service at the church. Private family interment at Acacia Park Cemetery, Mendota Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Minnesota Chapter.
