Irene Sherry (nee Fritzke) died Friday morning, Feb. 3, at Regina Nursing Home in Hastings.

Irene was born Dec. 22, 1923, in West St. Paul, the daughter of Margaret (Harders) and Alvin Fritzke. She was raised in Red Wing. On Jan. 22, 1944, she was united in marriage with Joseph at Fort Knox, Ky.
She enjoyed cake decorating, crocheting, playing cards, gardening, baking, and having a clean home. She loved her church.
Preceded in death by husband, Joseph; sisters Jean Broos, Karen Linder; brothers John "Jack" Fritzke, Donald Fritzke.
Irene is the beloved mother of Tamara "Tami" (Dennis) Mitchell, Dawn (Donn) Sorenson, Loretta (Jerry) Lee, Joseph Jr. (Teresa); grandmother of Mason, Joy, Desiree, Brian, Nathan, Ellen, Meghan, Ben, Rachel, Matt, Luke; great-grandmother of Nikolas, Jackson, Cooper, Makenzie, Evelyn; sister of Alvin "Butch" Fritzke, Donna Haberoth; sister-in-law of LaVonne and Donna Fritzke.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Wednesday with a 7 p.m. rosary service at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at church. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 8694 80th St. S., Cottage Grove. Interment St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery in Hastings. Memorials to Salvation Army or Regina Medical Center.
