Jennifer Maurer, age 37, of Cottage Grove, Minn., died unexpectedly at her home on Dec. 7.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Light the Way Church, 7000 Jamaica Ave., Cottage Grove, with visitation 1 hour prior. 651-459-4145 (church).

Jennifer Maurer was born Nov. 22, 1974, in St. Paul, and grew up in South St. Paul where she graduated from high school in 1993. She attended Inver Hills Community College and received her B.A. from Concordia University in St. Paul with an emphasis in business. She worked at RBC Wealth Management as an analyst for several years. Jennifer was united in marriage to William Maurer on July 8, 1999, in Cottage Grove, and the following year they renewed their vows on a romantic cruise on the St. Croix River. Two children were born to this union, Alexander and Ethan, whom she adored. Jennifer was recently accepted at Augsburg College to pursue a degree in education.

She enjoyed reading, relaxing, playing with her dog, Rex, but most of all, she loved her family. Jennifer was active at her church where she used her musical abilities and was involved in the Sunday school program and church productions.

She is survived by her husband of 13 years, William; two sons, Alexander and Ethan; parents, Linda Erickson and Jack (Donna) Swanson; sister, Jessica (Jim) McGibbon; grandparents Donald (Kathy) Setterman; nieces and nephews, Haley, Taylor, Emma, Christopher, Joshua, and Garrett; mother- and father-in-law, Larry (Lillian) Maurer; brother-in-law, Charles (Jackie) Maurer.

She was preceded in death by grandparents Phyllis Setterman, Paul and Jeanne Swanson; cousin Mindy Stebner; and uncle, Gary Swanson.
