R.J. Alowonle wins

After winning the preliminaries of the 300-meter hurdles at the state meet on Friday, June 11, at Hamline, in a time of 38.10 — which set a new Park High School record — R.J. Alowonle broke his own mark with a 37.89 in Saturday’s finals, besting North Branch senior Brian Grand by .08 of a second giving Park its first male state champion since Park’s Jason Boone won the state championship in the 800-meter run in 1992.
