Rainforest creature appears in Cottage Grove garage

It was no lion or tiger or bear — but oh my, it was weird. Cottage Grove officers were called to the 9300 block of Hallmark Ave. on July 15 where they found a kinkajou — a small, South and Central American rainforest mammal — trapped by the homeowners who suspected they had been harboring a raccoon in their garage for a week.
