No, Tom, you haven't proven that at all with your english translations. Nor have you proven that Jesus didn't like gays or that he opposed gays teaching his word. You've tried dozens of times but have failed. Your friend is a practicing gay man, no matter what he tells you...

At this point, the best thing for all parties is to have the conservative elements in the ELCA leave. The structure of the denomination is such that the central administration seems to have little power to compel churches to do one thing or the other, so let the malcontents leave so everyone can get on with their lives.

Jack, What you say doesn't match up with what we have talked about. I have stated over and over that I have a christian friend who has homosexual desires, but does not act on them. Two lesbiens attend our Bible study. What else do you want me to say? You are trying to make me out to be someone I am not. I love all people no matter who they are or what they say. I do not love sin nor do I condone it in any way. There is a big difference. And I have posted over and over where the Bible says practicing homosexuality is a sin and is wrong.

It is unacceptable in this day and age for people to deny that a person is born gay, especially for straight people to say it! How ignorant can you be?? Have you ever KNOWN a gay person??

You're wrong, Tom. The bible doesn't say gays are evil. Only people do. People are misguided. You are one of those.

You did what was biblically right Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran. Matthew 5:10-12 (New International Version) 10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Poor Jesus must be rolling over in his tomb at what A-holes his followers are. How disgusting you people are. You are 2nd class citizens, and just barely that.
