Buzz - good for your friend - yeah I do have a push mower, and do use it occassionally on the front yard, the back yard is too big for me to push mow, the stupid grass grows to fast, so I still polute unfortunately. But I am working on making my garden bigger so I have less to mow. Planting more fruit bearing bushes and trees to feed the wild life, those poor squirrels get awful hungry in the winter (roflmao!). Yeah those squirrels loved my corn all summer long, but they are not fond of garlic.

Patches, A friend of mine used to rent a house in St. Paul that had a very small yard. I stopped over one day and there he was on his knees with scissor style grass clippers in his hand, MOWING HIS LAWN!!

ahhh Jack, come on have some fun with this. After all, longer lawns, more rodents, then the foxes move in, then the wild cats move and then you don't dare let you little fluffy and fi fi out and you buy a cujo to protect you when in your back yard and it becomes really entertaining. How about planting eco-lawns such as buffalo grass which only grows to about 8 inches high, or a thyme lawn, wonderful fragrance, or just let clover take over, great bee food. Or how about making gas mowers illegal and everyone has to use a push mower. Then we can start on the noise pollution of leaf blowers. let's get down to the nitty gritty here folks.

Holy crap - why don't we just go back to living in the stone age so all the eco- euphorians will be happy. Everybody thinks this bio sphere we live on is this happy stable place in perfect balance with nature and we must do everything to preserve it. I have news for you, it's not-one big fart or belch from our good old mother earth and we could be yesterdays news like a gazillion other extinct species that have gone before us. From what I read in his viewpoint by B. Steven Messick, it's seems there was another reasonable and important view to this issue that the Bulletin missed and should have reported on at the beginning of this 3M issue. It's their duty to report sides of this. Sloppy journalism? or.....?

Who says 3M will relocate within the country. It seems that many big companies relocate to other places to save money and not deal with the environmental zealots. "Spewing" toxins is a funny statement. As long as it operates under its already imposed strict guidelines and is more efficient when buring the waste, it makes sense. We can't even get a Chipotle in here let alone keep a big business running. Now I'm going to go have a soda with some tainted ice cubes from CG water after shoveling my driveway outside in our tainted atmosphere. I'm suprised I haven't dropped dead from lung cancer, water poisoning, or whatever disease is in vogue right now. Good luck in your quest to keep everybody safe.

Ha ha ha, love the miscommunication on these forums :) I am all for lawn mowers, Patches. My point was just that the emission increase is so small it can be compared to a lawn mower, which I think is actually rather comical. You may have confused me with Cheri.

That would not only be incredibly unappealing, aesthetically, it would also harbor insects and rodents and be a health concern for such a populated area, patches... Don't be so lazy. Just mow your lawn like everybody else. ;-)
