Well I sure am confused by your comment, Chris. I don't know where you think you saw me claim an IQ award, but I assure you it wasn't me. I also never claimed to have a solution to this issue and never claimed the situation even needed a solution. So again, where you are coming from on this is a mystery. I merely stated that it would affect my family negatively to the point it would not justify us staying in that district if that were an option. But for everybody's sake, Chris, at least calm down.

Hey Jack - please enlighten all of us how someone such as yourself with the elevated IQ would have resolved this? I agree is isn't the optimal solution but it will only be an issue for a year. Please inform us how YOU would have handled the transition to a new school within the district. I can't wait to learn how this should have worked out in a more logical manner.

Another point not made is that friends are also divided. Example,My daughter and her friend both attend Cottage Grove Middle School, they are both on the swim team. My daughter swims with Park and her friend swims with East Ridge. This could pose a problem in some cases, but so far in my daughter's case it has not.

It was facetious, Jamie. Maybe they don't teach humor in Cottage Grove... Please lighten up. I'll be coaching a couple teams at Kingston tonight, Jamie. Yes, that's right. My kids play sports for Cottage Grove teams, and I coach several of them. Maybe your kid is on one of my teams. Wouldn't that be a hoot?

Well, it's good to see you are first to judge, but take a hard hit when being judged. Yes, I saw your point, but let your kids come and kick our behinds. . . really it's sad that a parent would announce that on here. So say whatever about your character, but you already ruined it with your IQ speech and your kids involvement with the area they live and don't get to take pride in.

Settle down, CrankyRella. It's my opinion that it would disrupt my family unduly and would force us to open-enroll. Just because you don't share that situation doesn't mean you should come out and attack my character. You should be ashamed of yourself judging someone like you just did. It's not your place to do so. Therefore, get back in your place, Jamie.

Most families (mine included) have kids going to different schools anyway.....depending on age.....elementary, middle and high school. While I don't agree with all the decisions made in our district, I think they did the best they could with this one. Not everyone will agree on any decision that is made.

Jack you are ridiculous yourself. Your kids are probably better off not on CG school property; we don't need that kind of negativity there. And I am sure being a parent you set them a prime example. Take understanding before you open mouth insert foot. There are no seniors going to EAST RIDGE and they need to take a year to adjust the new school. Only a person with an IQ would understand that and adapt to the change.

No, they seem to be fine with it, and that's a positive. I wonder how many families don't share that opinion though. I have 5 children. If they became suddenly separated into different schools with no other recourse, and this article was an interview of me, it would be an article with a much different tone...

Seniors are being allowed to stay with their classmates at their current school. East Ridge will have no seniors for the 2009-10 school year. Doesn't seem like the girls or their parents have any problem with it.
