Beer tasting to benefit homeless families
Guardian Angels Church in Oakdale will play host to the first St. Patrick’s Day beer tasting fundraiser to benefit Hope for the Journey Home, 6-10 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at the church, 8260 Fourth St. N., in Oakdale. Hope for the Journey Home is a collaboration of area churches which provides overnight transitional housing for homeless families. Activities at the beer tasting will include Irish music, light hors d’oeuvres, raffles and door prizes. Admission is $25 in advance or $30 at the door. It will allow guests (21 and older) to sample several different craft brews from eight participating companies and offers a chance to win a variety of $25 gift certificates to area restaurants. Participating breweries include Finnegan’s Lucid Brewing Co., Pour Decisions Brewing Co., Badger Hill Brewing Co., Dangerous Man Brewing Co., Tonka Beer Co., Fulton Brewing Co., Tall Grass Brewing Co., and House of Shandy Third Street Brewhouse. Tickets will be available at the door or online at www.guardian-angels.org.
