Church recruits help to pack meals

The congregation at Five Oaks Church in Woodbury is recruiting volunteers to help pack a half million meals for its Feed My Starving Children’s Mobile Packing Event, Thursday through Sunday, Feb. 28 to March 3. Planners are organizing 18 meal-making sessions in the gym at the church. “This will be the fifth year that Five Oaks Church has hosted a mobile packing event, and it’s the biggest goal for the church to date,” said Jerry Meras, the outreach director at Five Oaks Church. “This is an opportunity to learn about hunger-related issues, pray for those in need, raise funds to cover the cost of meals and pack meals for the hungry. Through this event, we can impact the lives of hundreds of children.” To sign up, visit www.5oaks.info/fmsc, reserve a spot and enter the names of the people in your volunteer group.
