Denmark township to celebrate oldest resident

Members of the Denmark Township Historical Society will host a celebration of the life of Mary Thurmes, beginning at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church Guild Hall, 8435 Saint Croix Trail S. (County Road 21). The event is free and the public is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served. Mary Frost Thurmes was born in August, 1915, at home in Denmark Township. She has lived in the township ever since, except for three years spent in Hastings after she married Henry Thurmes in 1942.
