The annual Afton Village Holiday will begin with a candle lighting at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, followed by free horse and carriage rides, strolling carolers, shopping, discounts, giveaways and food and drink specials until 8:30 p.m. Families may help decorate the holiday tree at the Afton Museum. If you go, take an ornament and enjoy complimentary refreshments. The event will continue Saturday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be breakfast and photos with Santa, old-fashioned kid crafts, exhibits, a walking tour and open skating. Visitors are encouraged to take donations for the Afton/Lakeland Girl Scout mitten tree in front of Baglio’s of Afton. For details, visit exploreafton.com.
