Longtime Cottage Grove resident Michael Diaz was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in July last year. After a stem cell transplant in January at the Mayo Clinic, he is making a full recovery. However, he needs help with expenses. Friends and family have organized a pasta dinner benefit from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at DeMori’s Italian Restaurant, 950 Helena Ave., just off Highway 494 and the 10th Street exit in Oakdale. The benefit will include dinner, a silent auction and Tupperware and Scentsy vendors. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for kids, 8 and younger. For updates on Mike’s recovery, visit www.caringbridge.org/visit/michaeldiaz. If you can’t attend, a benefit fund has been set up at The Postal Credit Union. Donations can be made by calling 651-770-7000 or going to any of the PCU’s five metro locations. For details, visit can visit www.postalcu.org for locations and hours.
