Interactive 'Shotgun Wedding' benefit

Members of a St. Paul Park family who have been raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for nearly 20 years will begin this year’s campaign with an interactive “Shotgun Wedding Reception” from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at Mississippi Dunes Golf Links in Cottage Grove. The team is organizing the event in memory of Jessica Stenvick, 9, of St. Paul Park, who died of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Last year, the team held its first Shotgun party in Blaine (cast members are shown above). “It was a great success,” said team member Melissa Abdouch of St. Paul Park. This year’s party will include dinner, the interactive show, DJ music and keg beer. Admission is $15 plus an unwrapped “wedding gift” that will be used as a prize or auction item at future events.
