On the heels of winning a fourth-straight Mounds Park Academy tournament championship, the New Life Academy volleyball team earned a pair of wins last week to improve to 14-3 on the year.
The Eagles are on an 11-game win streak and haven’t lost a match since Sept. 8.
Last week, NLA collected a Minnesota Christian Athletic Association conference win over rival Bethany and a non-conference win over St. Agnes on Homecoming night. Both wins went only three games. In the match with Bethany, freshmen hitters Abby Gorter and Sydney Mortenson collected 12 and 10 kills, respectively and freshman middle hitter Abby Thor had 15 kills and a 54 percent hitting percentage. In addition, eighth grader Hannah Nelson had eight kills and a 64 percent hitting percentage.
The young New Life team faces conference rivals Maranatha and West Lutheran this week. The team is currently 3-0 in the MCAA.
