Math and Science Academy Nordic skiing: Dragon boys, girls finish fifth in conference relays

The Math and Science Academy boys and girls Nordic ski teams each took fifth place in the Classic Suburban Conference relay meet, held Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Trollhaugen.

The Math and Science Academy boys and girls Nordic ski teams each took fifth place in the Classic Suburban Conference relay meet, held Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Trollhaugen.

The Dragons girls totaled 36.51 place-points and the Dragons boys scored 31.20 points.

Henry Sibley won the boys race with 27.20 points and Mahtomedi won the girls race with 32.6 place-points.

The race was a four-by-2 kilometer relay, with the first two skiers skiing classical style and the second two skiers skating.

“It was a good team effort with everyone competing well,” MSA head coach Bjorn Batdorf said.

For MSA, Ines Siepmann, Greta Siekmeier, Maddie Ames and Elise Lohman made up the girls team. Tim Siepmann, Peter Irvine, Grant Davis and han Yong Wunrow comprised the Dragons boys team.

Next, MSA will compete in the Classic Suburban Conference Championship meet in an all-day event at Trollhaugen.
