The New Life girls basketball team lost to No. 4-ranked Goodhue 50-45 in a valiant effort on Tuesday, Dec. 21 in Woodbury as the visiting team came from 11 points down to upend the Eagles.
In the non-conference game, New Life (3-2) led 26-15 at the half, but Goodhue (6-3) outscored the Eagles 35-19 in the second half to steal the win.
Senior guard Rebekah Schmidt paced the Eagles with a game-high 21 points and senior forward Cara Lutes had 11 points in the loss.
After the holiday, the Eagles will hit the court in Rochester at the Rochester Rotary Tournament, beginning on Tuesday, Dec. 28.
