Sports Notebook for April 9
East Ridge boys track team competes in first meet; Math and Science Academy baseball routs Academy for Sciences & Agriculture.
Two more local teams got their 2010 seasons started on Thursday afternoon as the East Ridge boys track and field squad and the Math and Science Academy baseball club took part in competitions.
The Raptors track team finished seventh at the White Bear Lake Relays, recording 35 points total. Individual results were not yet available.
The Dragons baseballers easily improved to 1-0 on the year by crushing the Academy for Sciences & Agriculture, 18-8. MSA starter Andy McMichael pitched the first four innings for the victory with Chris Brown going 2-for-5 at the plate in the victory.
