Three goals from three different scorers combined with 27 saves by goaltender Jessica Taplin made for a shutout victory for the South Washington County girls hockey team in a 3-0 win at Tartan on Thursday night.
The Royal Raptors notched all three scores in the second period amidst a 37-shot performance in Oakdale that improved the Woodbury-East Ridge conglomerate to 4-1 on the year.
Forward Alexa Jacobsen, who recently committed to play collegiately for and attend St. Norbert College next season, scored the sixth goal of her senior campaign to open the scoring at 4:43 of the middle frame.
Defender Clare Shaw added another goal at 5:53, before forward Rachel Letche's power play tally at 11:08 concluded the scoring in both the period and the game.
Forward Emily Moris accumulated two assists in the game with defender Liz Fronek, forward Cassie Goff and Shaw each logging one assist apiece in the contest.
The Royal Raptors return to their home rink at the Bielenberg Sports Center for a Friday night Suburban East Conference tilt with league leader Roseville. The Raiders, 5-0 on the year, are ranked No. 2 in the Class AA coaches poll.
