A south Washington County man was arrested for alleged theft and for carrying a rock in a sock that he claimed was a weapon.
Jabari A. Lafayette, 23, of St. Paul Park, was arrested Feb. 15 and booked into Washington County jail for alleged shoplifting and a weapons violation.
Police had been called to Kohls, 7990 Hardwood Ave., for a shoplifting incident. Lafayette allegedly took clothing valued at $64. He also had a orange sock containing a large concrete rock, which he said he uses as a weapon for protection, according to the report.
