Cottage Grove police brief: Woman accused of stealing new boyfriend's car

This is one relationship that may be off to a rocky start.

A Minneapolis woman was arrested last week for allegedly stealing her new boyfriend’s car in Cottage Grove.

The Cottage Grove man called police Feb. 20 to report that his girlfriend of one month took his car without permission from his home in the 8100 block of East Point Douglas Road.

Police later found the vehicle unoccupied near the intersection of Interstate 94 and Radio Drive in Woodbury. Then police found the woman at a nearby gas station, and she had the car keys to the stolen vehicle, according to the report.

Samantha L. Gobel, 22, of Minneapolis, was booked into Washington County jail on suspicion of vehicle theft.
