Park wrestling: Wolfpack defeat Burnsville, lose twice to Henry Sibley

The Park High School wrestling team ended its regular season on Friday, Feb. 8 with a triangular meet against Henry Sibley and Burnsville that was hosted by Henry Sibley.
Park came out hungry and was able to defeat Burnsville 51-30.
Winning by fall for Park was Garrett Whitehead (106), Collin LaBrosse (113), Daniel Duval (132), Jake Lanik (138), David Giadyu (145), Brandon Young (152), Sam Figlmiller (182) and Zach Wills (195). Cory Flaata (170) won by a major decision of 11-1.
Park then fell to host Henry Sibley by a score of 50-20.
Flaata (160) and Devin Hubbard (220) won by fall, scoring six points apiece for the Wolfpack, while LaBrosse (113) and Zach Wills (182) each won by a major decision. LaBrosse won by a score of 15-6, and Wills won 13-0.
Park traveled to Henry Sibley High School again on Friday, Feb. 15 for the 3AAA team sectional tournament.
The Wolfpack once again was matched up against the hosting Henry Sibley team, and they once again were defeated.
In a bit of a closer match, Park lost 47-23. Henry Sibley would go on to make it to the finals, where they were defeated by champion Apple Valley 64-9.
The team now travels to Burnsville High School on Friday, Feb. 22, for the individual sectional tournament.
