More than $1,000 worth of tools and other items was stolen from garages at a Cottage Grove apartment complex.
Police were called Feb. 11 to apartments at 8120 East Point Douglas Road for a break-in report. Thieves broke into three garage units and stole tools and a trolling motor. The stolen items were valued at more than $1,100 total.
Another 11 garages were damaged but not entered. Total damage was estimated at $383.
