Hidden Harbor marina withdraws zoning change in St. Paul Park
Two businesses must move by MayBy: Judy Spooner, South Washington County Bulletin
The St. Paul Park City Council was prepared to resume a public hearing last week on a zoning change for the Hidden Harbor Marina to allow owners to rent a former boat sales building to two businesses when the owners withdrew their application.
The change was opposed by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, which oversees the nearby Critical River Corridor, the city’s Planning Commission and the Metropolitan Council.
Marina owners asked the council to allow until the end of May for the businesses to move. Their request was granted on a 3-2 vote; council members Mayor Keith Franke, Tim Jones and Jeff Swenson supported it and members Jennifer Cheesman and Sandi Dingle opposed because of the length of time being allowed.
